About Us

Food FYI is composed of students in the Media, Culture, and Environment class at Florida State University. The six of us consider ourselves to be foodies and wanted to learn more about the food consumption of ourselves and our peers and thus, Food FYI was founded.  The inspiration for this project came from watching the 2009 documentary Food, Inc. There is a scene where the narrator states that we the grocery shoppers are the ones who control the quality of the food we receive based on our food purchases. Through this campaign, we are hoping to inform our community based on a survey we released to better know their shopping and dining habits, and hopefully, we can inspire them to make wise food choices.
